Austrian broadcaster ORF has revealed this morning that Johannes Pietsch (better known as JJ) will represent Austria in Eurovision 2025
JJ was selected as part of internal selection through live auditions in multiple rounds.
The format involved ORF’s management, Eurovision fan clubs, and an expert jury.
Who is JJ?
JJ is a 23-year-old singer and a performer in the Vienna State Opera.
He was born in Vienna and spent some years in Dubai.
In 2021, he participated in the music show Starmania, just like Teya and Salena!
He has participated in productions like “Die Zauberflöte”, “Von der Liebe Tod”, and “Tschick“.
JJ combines opera and pop in his music.

Austria will reveal their song for Eurovision 2025 at the beginning of March 2025.
It was hinted that the song would feature some opera elements.
He will perform the song “Wasted Love”, which was co-written by Teya (who represented Austria in Eurovision 2023, together with Salena)
Austria will compete in the first half of semi-final 2.
Eurovision 2025 will be held in Basel, Switzerland on the 13th, 15th, and 17th of May 2025.
