After closing the submission window for “Melodifestivalen 2026″, Swedish broadcaster SVT announced that 3,888 songs were submitted to the selection process for Eurovision 2026.
“Melodifestivalen 2026” – Rumored Artists
Based on the Swedish media, and especially Expressen and Aftonbladet, we can reveal some of the leading names that will reportedly participate in “Melodifestivalen 2026″.
We would like to highlight that SVT hasn’t confirmed any names officially.

#1. A-Teens
A-Teens is a Swedish pop band that was formed in 1998. The band was established as a special tribute to the ABBA band.
The band members are: Marie Serneholt, Amit Paul, Dhani Lennevald, and Sara Lumholdt
The band split ways in 2004 and was reunited in 2024.
According to Aftonbaldet, the band is about to make their “Melodifestivalen” debut in 2026 with a strong song.
In 2024, they performed as interval acts in “Melodifestivalen 2025″
#2. Jacqueline Moss
Jacqueline participated in “Melodifestivalen” for the first time in 2024 with the song “Effortless”.
She rose to prominence in 2021, finishing 2nd in the Swedish Idol.
#3. Patrik Jean
Patrik Jean is a 35-year-old Swedish singer-songwriter.
In 2020, he was one of the writers of “Move” by the Mamas, the winning entry of “Melodifestivalen 2020“.
In 2021, he also competed as a performer with “Tears Run Dry”
#4. AleXa (Kim Seri)

Alexa is an American K-pop singer based in South Korea.
The 28-year-old singer is well-known from the “American Song Contest”, where she represented Oklahoma and won the contest with “Wonderland”.
We can probably expect her to work with Cazzi Opeia on her debut “Melodifestivalen” entry.
#5. Cimberly Wanyonyi
Cimberly Wanyonyi is a 20-year-old singer with Kenyan-Finnish roots who won Swedish Idol in 2023.
There, she had defeated Saga Ludvigsson on her way to the trophy.
Cimberly is rumored to submit an entry to “Melodifestivalen 2025″, but this time it seems she will finally get a chance to participate in the national selection.

#6. Erika Jonsson
Erika Jonsson is a 34-year-old country singer.
Last spring, she participated in SVT’s show “Countrylandet Sverige”.
Recently, she has signed a contract with one of the leading record labels in Sweden.

#7. Vilhelm Buchaus
Vilhelm Buchaus is a 24-year-old Swedish singer.
He made his “Melodifestivalen” debut in 2025 with “I’m Yours”.
Based on the Swedish media, he is expected to participate in the contest for the 2nd time in 2026:

“Melodifestivalen 2026” – Known Details
- The competition will consist of 6 shows: 5 semi-finals and a grand final.
- 30 acts will compete in the semi-final, 12 of them will qualify for the final.
- The dates and host cities will be as follows:
- Semi-Final 1: January 31st, 2026 (Linköping)
- Semi-Final 2: February 7th, 2026 (Göteborg)
- Semi-Final 3: February 14th, 2026 (Kristianstad)
- Semi-Final 4: February 21st, 2026 (Malmö)
- Semi-Final 5: February 28th, 2026 (Sundsvall)
- Final: March 7th, 2026 (Stockholm)
- 3,888 songs were submitted to “Melodifestivalen 2026“
- The selected jury will shortlist the submitted songs. The panel will consist of the “Melodifestivalen” main board members, among them Karin Gunnarsson (“Melodifestivalen” producer).
- There aren’t any restrictions regarding the language of the songs.
- At least 30% of the chosen acts will be performed in Swedish.
- At least 50% of the chosen songs must feature female writers/composers.
- The 30 acts are reported to be revealed on December 2nd, 2025.

KAJ represented Sweden in Eurovision 2025
They performed “Bara Bada Bastu” and ended in 4th place
Eurovision 2026 will be held in Vienna, Austria, on May 12th, 14th, and 16th, 2026.
