After closing the submission window for “Melodifestivalen 2026″, Swedish broadcaster SVT announced that 3,888 songs were submitted to the selection process for Eurovision 2026.
“Melodifestivalen 2026” – Rumored Artists
Based on the Swedish media, and especially Expressen and Aftonbladet, we can reveal some of the leading names that will reportedly participate in “Melodifestivalen 2026″.
We would like to highlight that SVT hasn’t confirmed any names officially.

#1. Timo Räisänen
Timo Räisänen is the guitarist in Håkan Hellström’s backing band who became a solo artist and has released 9 albums since 2005. In 2013, he competed in SVT’s short-lived music program “Alla tiders hits” and took home the victory with his version of “Lyckliga gatan“. In 2016, he released an album with interpretations of Ted Gärdestad.
In 2024, he collaborated with several Swedish artists, including Oscar Zia.
According to rumors, he is about to make his “Melodifestivalen” debut this year.
His song is said to be co-written by Linnea Deb and himself. Linnea Deb co-wrote some of Sweden’s entries for Eurovision (2013, 2015, 2021, and 2024).
#2. Laila Adèle
Another comeback is planned. The 47-year-old singer is determined to give it a try in “Melodifestivalen 2026”. She has made her name in the musical world with roles in “Little Shop of Horrors”, “Hairspray”, and “Legally Blonde
In 2006, she competed in “Melodifestivalen 2006” with “Don’t Try To Stop Me”.
#3. Klara Almström
Klara Almström participated in “Swedish Idol” (where she finished 3rd) in 2022 and is reportedly set to take part in “Melodifestivalen 2026”.
Her “Melodifestivalen 2026” song is reported to be a pop song in the Swedish language.

“Melodifestivalen 2026” – Known Details
- The competition will consist of 6 shows: 5 semi-finals and a grand final.
- 30 acts will compete in the semi-final, 12 of them will qualify for the final.
- The dates and host cities will be as follows:
- Semi-Final 1: January 31st, 2026 (Linköping)
- Semi-Final 2: February 7th, 2026 (Göteborg)
- Semi-Final 3: February 14th, 2026 (Kristianstad)
- Semi-Final 4: February 21st, 2026 (Malmö)
- Semi-Final 5: February 28th, 2026 (Sundsvall)
- Final: March 7th, 2026 (Stockholm)
- 3,888 songs were submitted to “Melodifestivalen 2026“
- The selected jury will shortlist the submitted songs. The panel will consist of the “Melodifestivalen” main board members, among them Karin Gunnarsson (“Melodifestivalen” producer).
- There aren’t any restrictions regarding the language of the songs.
- At least 30% of the chosen acts will be performed in Swedish.
- At least 50% of the chosen songs must feature female writers/composers.
- The 30 acts are reported to be revealed on December 2nd, 2025.

KAJ represented Sweden in Eurovision 2025
They performed “Bara Bada Bastu” and ended in 4th place
Eurovision 2026 will be held in Vienna, Austria, on May 12th, 14th, and 16th, 2026.
