German broadcaster ARD has announced its plans for Eurovision 2026.
The country will select its Eurovision 2026 artist and song via a national selection: “Eurovision Song Contest – Das Deutsche Finale 2026”.
The national selection will take place on Saturday, February 28th, 2026, at 20:15 local time.

Here are the known details:
- The selection process will feature several stages.
- SWR will organize a Songwriting camp where artists collaborate with internationally renowned songwriters and producers to develop songs for the ESC.
- A selection committee composed of professional musicians (both national and international) as well as public representatives will evaluate the songs and shortlist them for the selection.
The lead German broadcaster ARD has assigned SWR to lead the selection process.
Tina Sikorski is the new Head of Delegation and will be in charge of artistic and organizational coordination of Germany’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest.
Tina commented:
Music is a language we all understand. For 70 years, the ESC has shown us how powerful and magical this connection can be, but also how controversially issues are repeatedly debated. I am delighted that we are carrying on the musical spark with ARD. At the German ESC final, we will see fantastic performances and find the perfect act that will make Germany shine at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest.
More details regarding the selection process will be revealed in January 2026
