Estonia: “Eesti Laul 2027” – First Details Have Been Revealed

Estonian broadcaster ERR approved “Eesti Laul 2027” as the selection process for Eurovision 2027.

The submission window has just opened and will close on October 8th, 2026

The final will take place on Friday, January 20th, 2027.
12 artists will be shortlisted to participate in the final. The results will be based on public votes and jury votes.
- In the first round, the results will be based on a 50% public vote and a 50% international jury vote.
- The top 3 acts will progress to the super-final, where the winner will be selected by public vote only.
The shortlisted songs will be released on November 27th, 202+. The artists can’t release them before.
Songs can be performed/created by Estonian citizens, Estonians living outside of Estonia, or foreign citizens, as long as at least one of the songwriters/composers is Estonian.
A national jury panel of at least 25 members will listen to the submitted songs and select the finalists. They will listen to the music without knowing who is behind them. The panel will include professional musicians, performers, composers, singers, producers, as well as music journalists, DJs, teachers, and ordinary people of different ages who are music listeners
The participation fee will be as follows:
- For songs submitted by October 5th and written in the Estonian language: 50€.
- For songs submitted by October 5th and written in a foreign language / mixed languages: 100€.
- For songs submitted after October 5th and written in the Estonian language: 150€.
- For songs submitted after October 5th and written in a foreign language / mixed languages: 250€.
Each songwriter/composer can submit up to 5 songs to the competition.
The winner of “Eesti Laul 2027” will have the first right to represent Estonia in Eurovision 2027, but they are not obligated to do so.
