Back in 16th of May 2020 Samanta Tina was chosen to represent Latvia again in Eurovison 2021.Previous year Samanta won national selection ”Supernova’‘ with song ‘‘Still Breathing”.
On 3rd February it was announced that 5 episode series will be shown how Samanta Tina is getting ready for Eurovison 2021.Tonight was 1st episode and I am going to review it.
This episode started showing hand picked musicians and music producers who will help Samanta Tina write the entry. The team consist people like Kaspars Ansons,Reinis Straume,Oskars Uhans and Aminata.
Over 2 day song writing camp they wrote 11 songs which of 2 songs were played during the episode one of song is playing and which is called ”Moon is Rising”. According to Samanta Tina Eurovison entry must be ”explosive and loud’‘. The all 11 songs has elements mixture of Prodigy and David Guetta dance beats.
We had some interviews like:
Toms Grevins (Latvian spokesperson of Eurovison Song Contest) and his opinion key of winning Eurovison Song must have ”’should be last chorus needs to be powerful that says in memory.If you can tell story in 2 minutes and 59 seconds then its can be successful”.
Karlis Bumers (Part of Valters and Kazha who represented Latvia in 2005). ”Song must have personal story and personal believe,after years you won’t be ashamed of your song”.
Zita Kaminska (LTV and Supernova producent) said ”song must have catchy chorus like United Kingdom 1997,another factor needs to have charisma like Norway 2009, realness and sensitive like Latvia 2005”.
Aminata (Latvia 2015) said ”There isn’t 1 way to win Eurovsion, the key must be different elements like Portugal 2017 and completely different like Sweden 2016”.
Then we go to public and host asked to public what they thought what Eurovison song must have and the answers were like catchiness, catchy lyrics, uniqueness , original, be different, something modern, something positve, lovely, something new, about civil people ,something from Latvia, show ”Latvian” heart.
Show ended by hearing 1st demo version of ”Moon is Rising” and we learned from 11 songs which was 1st round it came to 4 songs in 2nd round.
