Iceland: “Söngvakeppnin 2022” – Semi-Final 2 Results

RÚV held tongiht the second semi-final of “Söngvakeppnin 2022“.
Björg Magnúsdóttir, Jón Jónsson and Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir hosted the show:

5 artists performed tonight. According to the Söngvakeppnin regulation, all contestants must sing in the Icelandic language in the semi-finals.
They performed in the following running order:

  1. Markéta Irglová – Mögulegt  (Possible)
  2. SUNCITY & SANNA – Hækkum Í Botn (Let’s Rise To The Bottom)
  3. Reykjavíkurdætur (Daughters of Reykjavík) – Tökum Af Stað (Let’s Start)
  4. Katla – Þaðan Af (From there)
  5. Hanna Mia and The Astrotourists – Séns Með Þér (Seen With You)

The Results

The results were determined by 100% public vote. 2 artists qualified for the final:

Katla – Þaðan Af

Reykjavíkurdætur (Daughters of Reykjavík) – Tökum Af Stað 

At the moment, these 3 artists are eliminated:

Markéta Irglová – Mögule

SUNCITY & SANNA – Hækkum Í Botn 

Hanna Mia and The Astrotourists – Séns Með Þér 

However, one of the 6 eliminated semi-finalists (3 from each semi-final) got a wild-card from the jury:

Therefore, the 5 finalists of “Söngvakeppnin 2022” are:

  1. Sigga, Beta and Elín – Með Hækkandi Sól
  2. Stefán Óli – Ljósið / All I Know (English Version)
  3. Katla – Þaðan Af / Then Again (English Version)
  4. Reykjavíkurdætur (Daughters of Reykjavík) – Tökum Af Stað / Turn This Around (English Version)
  5. Amarosis – “Don’t you know”

Next Saturday, Iceland will hold the final of “Söngvakeppnin 2022

Iceland will participate in the second half of semi-final 1 of Eurovision 2022 which be held on the 10th of May 2022.
If the country qualifies, Iceland will perform in the grand final on the 14th of May 2022
