As we continue our weekly series Around The Continent, we will discuss the news and tell the story of each country’s preparation for Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

Here’s how the Eurovision 2022 stage will look in motion:
Italian designer Francesca Montinaro has revealed more details about the green room:
The key factor for the green room design is the connection to nature. She took her insipartion from the verdant garden.
The green room will be in the front part of the stage.

There will be a part of virtual water that will be located between the main stage and the green room. The aim is to remind people of fountains in a park.
The green room will also include plants:









The main concept of the stage is “The Sun Within“. This will be based on the movement and light the sun gives.
Earlier, the designer commented on the stage design:

showcase theatrical motion, which is framed by water and will have a lush Italian garden lapping up the rays in front of it

Ronela Hajati attends Italy to start rehearsals for Eurovision 2022 performance.
She has uploaded a photo from the studio with the 4 dancers that will accompany her on stage:


In addition, the Albanian designer Niko Komani gave an interview to the “60 sekonda” magazine.
He revealed that Ronela will wear a pink outfit for her Eurovision performance:

Sacha Jean-Baptiste has been chosen to be the creative director for the Australian performance at Eurovision 2022.
This will be the 3rd time that Sacha will be involved in the Australian performance, following 2018 and 2018 performances.


They have already started working on choreography sessions, focusing on hand movements.
In addition, Sheldon has hinted about his look on stage:
He will wear a special mask, covered with thousands of crystals.
His outfit will be a heavyweight one, and will consist of feathers.

Austrian broadcaster ORF has revealed the outfits that Lumix and Pia Maria will wear in Turin:

Lumix commented:
My outfit was put together by the famous Italian stylist Andreas Mercante and has a touch of 90s disco as well as classic streetwear elements. The refined materials together with the shoes and the handmade accessories give my look a unique touch.
Pia Maria commented:
While shooting the music video for ‘Halo’ I came across the ‘Manufaktur Herzblut’. The outfits are exceptional and have a high recognition value. The stage outfit was individually designed and tailored for me – and was also created in cooperation with me. They are great materials and fabrics.

Mads Enggaard will be the staging director of Azerbaijan‘s performance at Eurovision 2022.
This will be his 3rd time involving in the country’s particiaprion, after being the stage director in 2019 (“Truth”) and 2021 (“Mata Hari”)
Mads Enggaard worked in the viewing room production at the contest in 2014, 2015, 2017, as well as Junior Eurovision 2018.
He was the staging director for Denmark at Eurovision 2004, 2010, 2018 and 2019.


Based on Croatian media, here are possible details about the the Croatian staging:

- ELFS (Ivan Tandarić and Aleksandar Šekuljica) will design Mia‘s outfit.
- The male dancer from “Dora 2022” won’t be part of the performance at Eurovision.
- Mia won’t be alone on stage. She will be joined by 3 dancers and 2 backing vocalists.
- The concept of the stage will aim to tell a story in fairy-tale style.
The spokesperson for Croatia will be Monika Lelas Halambek. She was a spokesperson in 2019 as well.

Andromache revealed in an interview that she will appear on Eurovision 2022 stage with women only.

YLE, the Finnish broadcaster, has published a short video from the rehearsals of The Rasmus:
In addition, YLE has promised a staging that will be different from the “UMK 2022” performance.
We expect a lot of props, including balloons:

Élodie Gossuin will be the French spokesperson this year.
She was in this role in 2016-2018, and also co-hosted Junior Eurovision 2021.

During a Q&A session that Malik Harris held, we could have learned more about the staging plans.
Marvin Dietmann will be the art director of the performance.
Malik will be accompanied by his guitar, keyboard and drumpad on stage.
The rap pat will be included in the performance.



According to Amanda Tenfjord, the main color in the staging for her performance will be blue.
Last week, RAI examined the lighting in the arena with the Greek song (no delegations attended).

It is still unknown whether the Israeli delegation will attend the events in Turin.
However, Michael Ben David revealed the following details at the OGAE Israel annual meeting:
- The choreography of the Eurovision performance will be completely different from the “X Factor Israel” and “Israel Calling” performances.
- The staging will include multiple camera angles.


Diodato, who should have represented Italy at Eurovision 2020, will perform as an interval act in the Eurovision 2022 semi-final 1

In addition, Eurovision 2022 staging will transform into a giant disco party, featuring 3 artists:
Dardust, Benny Benassi, and Sophie and the Giants:

As part of the promotion of Montenegro‘s participation, Vladana recorded 2 additional versions of her Eurovision 2022 song “Breathe“:
Italian version – “Respira“
Finnish version – “Jää“

The duo of designers Viktor&Rolf will desing S10 oufits at at the Opening Ceremony and on the Eurovision 2022 stage.

The singer gave an interview to Songfestivalweblog website, where she talked about the planned staging.
She hinted that the laser effects (as shown in the first live performance at “Matthijs gaat door”) won’t be part of the staging in Turin.

Lorella Flego will be the Slovenian spokesperson this year.
The journalist and TV presenter isn’t a stranger to Eurovision.
In 2008 and 2010 she hosted the national selection “EMA“. In 2012 and 2021, she was the Slovenian spokeperson.

The model and TV presenter Nieves Álvarez will be the Spanish spokesperson.
This will be her 5th time in a row in the role.
This year, the Spanish jury voted will be given from the city of Benidorm, where the national selection was held.

Dotter, a huge fan favorite and former “Melodifestivalen” participant (in the years 2018, 2020, 2021), will be the Swedish spokesperson.
