Germany: Lord of the Lost Will Perform “Blood And Glitter” At Eurovision 2023

Germany held its national selection for Eurovision 2023: “Unser Lied für Liverpool”.

Initially, 9 artists were shortlisted to participate in the German selection for Eurovision 2023. However, the band Frida Gold has withdrawn, due to the illness of the lead singer Alina Süggeler

  2. René Miller – Concrete Heart
  3. Anica Russo – Once Upon A Dream
  4. Lonely Spring – Misfit
  5. Will Church – Hold On
  6. Patty Gurdy – Melodies Of Hope
  7. Ikke Hüftgold – Lied mit gutem Text
  8. Frida Gold – Alle Frauen in mir sind müde (withdraw due to the illness of the lead singer).
  9. Lord Of The Lost – Blood And Glitter

The Results

The results were determined by a combination of a 50% public vote and a 50% international jury vote.
International jury votes were based on 8 different panels, each one consisting 5 members from certain countries. The international jury is from 8 different countries: Ukraine, UK, Austria, Switzerland, Finland, Spain, Finland and The Netherlands.
Each jury panel will grant 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 points to the 8 acts.
Overall, the jury will grant 369 points to all the acts together.

The jury voted as follows:

It becomes clear that Will Church leads the scoreboard with 90 point (out of 368 points).
Aica Russo and René Miller were in the 2nd and 3rd places of the international jury.

Among the jury members, we could have found Eurovision related artists:

  • Gjon’s Tears (Switzerland 2020+2021)
  • Surie (UK 2018)
  • Cesár Sampson (Austria 2018)
  • Barei (Spain Eurovision 2016)
  • Vaidotas [The Roop lead singer] (Lithuania 2020+2021)
  • Joel Hokka [Blind Channel lead singer] (Finalnd 2021)

The public vote will be calculated in a porportinal system, where the total sum is 368 points.

The public voted as follows:

Lord of The Lost won the public vote with a huge gap (51% of the overall public votes!).

Therefore, Lord of The Lost wins “Unser Lied für Liverpool”.
Lord of the Lost will perform “Blood And Glitter” at Eurovision 2023:

Germany will compete in the grand final of Eurovision 2023.
