Denmark: More Details Regarding “Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2025” Have Been Revealed

Danish broadcaster DR will select the Eurovision 2025 entry via “Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2025”

The 8 artists and songs that will compete in “Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2025”, will be revealed on the 6th of February 2025.

Based on our previous article, one of those 8 acts has already represented Denmark in Eurovision.

Erik Struve, the producer of the “Dansk Melodi Grand Prix,” emphasizes that Denmark’s main goal will be qualifying for the final. The country failed to qualify for the grand final between 2021 and 2024.

In his latest interview, Erik Struve gave more details regarding the national selection:

One of the songs is described as a big powerful ballad.
One of the songs will be performed in the Danish language.
3 of the songs were created in songwriting camps featuring writers and composers from Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.
4-5 songs were created by songwriters with strong Eurovision references.
None of the 8 selected entries had been rejected by another country beforehand.
This year’s line-up excels in diversity and variety. We will see a combination of classic Eurovision songs and new genres.
One of the participants has already represented the country in Eurovision.
The winner will receive special psychological support to help cope with the stress and responsibility.

Erik added:

“Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2025” – Main Details

The “Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2025” will be held on Saturday, March 1st, 2025. The televised show will be held at the Jyske Bank Boxen in Horsens.
The songs and the artists will be revealed on the 6th of February 2025.
A combination of public and jury votes will determine the winner. The voting method will remain the same as in 2024.
The final will be held in Herning.
