Denmark Opens Submissions For “Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2027” Ahead of Eurovision 2027

Danish broadcaster DR confirms its participation in Eurovision 2027.
The country will stick to its traditional selection: “Dansk Melodi Grand Prix”.

“Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2027” – Known Details

  1. Submissions will be made online via the link https://bidra.nrk.no/mgp2027
  2. The submission window is already open and will close on October 25th, 2026.
  3. The submissions must include an audio version of the song, as well as a video of the artist performing the song.
  4. Either the composer, lyricist or performing artist must be a Danish citizen or have a correspondingly strong connection to Denmark. (Residence in Denmark for a long period of time, married or in a relationship with a Dane or similar).
  5. Residents of the Faroe Islands and Greenland will be allowed to submit a song.
  6. 8 songs will be shortlisted for the final.
  7. The song must be an original composition
  8. The song cannot be longer than 3 minutes.
  9. The song must not have been performed or released before September 1, 2026.
  10. The artist must be 18 years old by May 31st, 2027.
  11. Each producer/lyricist/composer can submit several songs.
  12. The song will be performed in a language of your choice at the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2027. The winning song will be performed in a language of your choice at the ESC semi-finals and final in 2027. The language will be chosen together with the DR.
