Iceland: Söngvakeppnin 2025 Semi-Finals Running Order Announced

RUV The Icelandic broadcaster has just announced the performance running order for the 10 entries that will participate in this year’s national selection “Söngvakeppnin 2025″.

Semi-Final 1 (February 8th)

  1. Stebbi JAK  Frelsið Mitt / Set Me Free
  2. BIRGO  Ég flýg í storming / Stormchaser
  3. Ágúst – Eins og þú / Like You
  4. BIA – Norðurljós / Northern Lights
  5. VÆB – RÓA

Semi-Final 2 (February 15th)

  1. Dagur Sig – Flugdrekar / Carousel
  2. Júlí & Dísa – Eldur / Fire
  3. Bára Katrín – Rísum upp / Rise Above
  4. Bjarni Arason – Aðeins lengur
  5. Tinna – Þrá / Words

“Söngvakeppnin 2025” – Known Details

  1. Benedikt Valsson, Guðrún Dís Emilsdóttir and Fannar Sveinsso will host the shows.
  2. The national selection will feature 3 shows:
    • Semi-Final 1: Saturday, February 8th 2025
    • Semi-Final 2: Saturday, February 15th 2025
    • Grand Final: Saturday, February 22nd 2025
  3. The shows will be held in RVK Studios in Gufunes.
  4. 10 artists were shortlisted to compete in the televised shows.
  5. 5 artists will perform in each semi-final, 3 of them will qualify (based on 100% public vote)
  6. 6 artists will compete in the final. The grand final results will be determined by one round only, composed of a 50% jury vote (featuring 7 international members) and a 50% public vote.
  7. The main changes compared to previous years are:
    • No wildcards will be given to one of the semi-final non-qualifiers
    • The number of finalists increased from 5 to 6
    • The “super-final” in cancelled.
  8. The songs and the artists will be revealed on January 17th.
  9. Thomas Benstem and Selma Björnsdóttir will be the artistic directors of the contest.

Eurovision 2025 will be held in Basel, Switzerland on the 13th, 15th, and 17th of May 2025
