Bulgaria Confirms Eurovision 2026 Participation

After a long 3 years of absence, Bulgaria will take part in Eurovision 2026!
The country joins Romania as the second country to come back to the contest after some years of non-participation.

Emil Koshlukov, the General President of BNT, explained:

“Eurovision is a stage where cultures meet and stories are shared. BNT supports talented artists and we are happy that we were able to once again provide an opportunity for a Bulgarian artist to represent our country in front of an audience of millions”

In his statement, he emphasized the importance of showcasing the Bulgarian culture, as well as the opportunity for Bulgarian artists.

Martin Green, the Eurovision Director, added:

“We are very excited to welcome BNT back to the Eurovision family after a three-year hiatus. Its return is further proof that we remain united by music, as well as the immense popularity of the contest”

The selection process isn’t known at the moment.
However, in recent years, Bulgaria has tended to choose its Eurovision act internally.
In 2021, they selected the artist (Victoria) internally, but chose the song via an online selection.

BNT has been though some financial issues, leading them to get the help in funding of participation in 2021 and 2022.

Intelligent Music Project represented Bulgaria in Eurovision 2022
They performed “Intention” and didn’t qualify for the final:
