Meet Sweden’s Melodifestivalen 2nd Semi Final Entries

Sweden continues the journey to Tel-Aviv with the 2nd semi-final of Melodifestivalen 2019.

This week, another 7 entries will take the stage traveled to Malmö Arena in Malmö. top2 will join last week qualifiers Mohombi and Wiktoria in the final. the entries that will finish 3-4 will join Anna Bergendahl and Nano for the second chance round on March 2nd.

1. Andreas Johnson – Army Of Us

Written by: Andreas Johnson, Jimmy Jansson, Sara Ryan, Andreas “Stone” Johansson, Sebastian Thott

Besides his Europe music career starring MTV with songs like “Glorious”, Andreas Johnson is well known to Melodifestivalen stage with 5 attempts so far:

2006: “Sing for Me” (3rd place)
2007: “A Little Bit of Love” (2nd place).
2008: “One Love” Together with Eurovision winner Carola Häggkvist (Finished Second chance).
2010: “We Can Work It Out” (6th place)
2012: “Lovelight” (Finished Second chance)

2. Malou Prytz – I Do Me
Written by: Isa Tengblad, Elvira Anderfjärd, Fanny Arnesson, Adéle Cechal

This is Malou first appearance on Melfest stage. Isa Tengblad that wrote Malou‘s entry participated herself in Melodifestivalen 2015 singing “Don’t Stop” finished 7th in the final.

3. Oscar Enestad – I Love It
Written by: Emanuel Abrahamsson, Parker James, Oscar Enestad

Oscar was part of the boyband FO&O together with Felix Sandman singing ”Gotta Thing About You in Melodifestivalen 2017 and finished 11th in the final.

4. Jan Malmsjö – Leva livet

This is Jan Malmsjö first performance in Melodifestivalen after many years on stages across Sweden with musicals, operettas, and entertainment programs

5. Vlad Reiser – Nakna i regnet

This is Vlad Reiser 1st appearance in Melodifestivalen. Vlad is a part of the famous YouTube channel NormelTV.

6. Hanna Ferm & Liamoo – Hold You
Written by: Jimmy Jansson, Fredrik Sonefors, Hanna Ferm, Liam Pablito Cacatian Thomassen

Liamoo won the 12th season of Swedish Idol in 2016. His Melodifestivalen entry in 2018 “Last breath” finished 6th in the final. Hanna also participated in the Swedish Idol in 2017 and thats her first time on Melodifestivalen’s stage.

7.Margaret – Tempo

Margaret finished 7th in Melodifestivalen 2018 final singing “In My Cabana”. In 2016 she came 2nd in the Polish national selection with the Mega-Hit “Cool Me Down”

This year for the first time, SVT, The Swedish broadcast, has changed to the voting system and the public televote system will be decided into eight different groups of age

• Green: 3–9 years
• Turquoise: 10–15 years
• Blue: 16–29 years
• Purple: 30–44 years
• Pink: 45–59 years
• Red: 60–74 years
• Orange: 75+
• No color: Phone

Sweden’s journey will continue across the country every Saturday till the grand final on March 9th.

• Semi final 3 – February 16th, Leksand, Tegera Arena
• Semi final 4 – February 23rd Lidköping, Sparbanken Arena
• Second chance – March 2nd Nyköping, Nyköpings Arena Rosvalla
• Final – March 9nd, Friends Arena

All shows will be broadcast live on SVT Play.

Statistically, Sweden has a tough draw this time as they will participate in the first half of second Semifinal 2 on May 16th. Sweden finished 7th in Lisbon’s final with Benjamin Ingrosso‘s “Dance You Off”.
