Eurovision 2020: It’s Tornike Kipianiis For Georgia

In just a few moments until 2019 is officially over, Georgia held tonight the grand final of the “Georgian idol” second season in order to select their representative for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest.

Among hundreds of contestants, only these four talented stars made it to the grand final:

  • Barbara Samkharadze
  • Mariam Gogiberidze
  • Tamar Kakalashvili
  • Tornike Kipiani

At the end of the show, it was announced that, as expected, Tornike Kipianiis is the season’s winner. The winner was chosen by a televoting and an online vote and this is how the Georgian audience were voted:

  • Barbara Samkharadze (31.18%)
  • Mariam Gogiberidze (16.62%)
  • Tamar Kakalashvili (18.38%)
  • Tornike Kipiani (33.82%)

Tornike Kipianiis is remembered for winning the X-factor in 2014 where he was mentored by 2019 Eurovision star Tamta. he also tried to represent Georiga in 2017 when he submitted the song “You Are My Sunshine” together with Giorgi Bolotashvili for the country’s national final.

Tornike Kipianiis will now begin his journey to select the right song for the mission.  the song which he will sing at the 65 Eurovision Song Contest will be published later this year.
