The race for Eurovision 2021 continues, as Eurovision 2020 was canceled.
Several countries have already picked their intended Eurovision 2020 representatives to represent them at Eurovision 2021. The countries are Israel, Georgia, Belgium, The Netherlands, Croatia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Greece, Bulgaria, Switzerland, and Spain.
Today we have the details about other countries:
The Austrian broadcaster ORF has chosen internally the singer Vincent Bueno as the Austrian representative for Eurovision 2020. He should have performed the song “Alive”
The broadcaster announced that Vincent Bueno will be the artist for Eurovision 2021. He will sing a new song at Eurovision 2021.

Iceland tends to choose its artist and song for Eurovision via the mechanism of “Söngvakeppnin“. The winners of the national final in 2020 were Daði og Gagnamagnið with the song “Think About Things”.
The Icelandic broadcaster RÚV will probably hold another edition of the competition.
On his Tweeter account, the singer announced that he won’t compete again at “Söngvakeppnin”. However, he will be happy to represent the country at Eurovision 2021 if he and his band will be chosen internally. The last time when “Söngvakeppnin” hasn’t been held was in 2005 where Selma Björnsdóttir has been chosen internally.
However, Daði says that he may submit a song for “Söngvakeppnin” as a composer. Actually, in the 2020 edition, Elisabet Ormslev performed the song “Haunting” which was composed by Daði.
In 2020, Norway held its national selection process “Melodi Grand Prix 2020” which included 5 semi-finals and final. The winner of the national final was the singer Ulrikke Brandstorp with the song “Attention“.
The Norwegian broadcaster NRK has decided to hold “Melodi Grand Prix 2021″ for choosing an artist and a singer to represent Norway at Eurovision 2021.
NRK holds “Melodi Grand Prix 2021” every year since 1960!
The format has been revealed too, it will be identical to the format of 2020 which means “Melodi Grand Prix 2021″ will include 5 semi-finals an final. 5 artists will pre-qualify for the final.
The singer Ulrikke Brandstorp was invited to submit a song for the 2021 edition and get an automatic spot in the final as one of the pre-qualifiers.
At the moment, Ulrikke has decided to give up the opportunity.

“My dream is shattered. I then wanted to represent Norway in Eurovision. I fully understand that Eurovision 2020 has been canceled due to the coronavirus, but I hoped for a long time that NRK would do as many other countries and support its artist by sending the artist to Eurovision in 2021 with a new song. So naturally, I am very disappointed with NRK’s decision today to run an ordinary MGP season next year. It breaks my heart over the fans who have been absolutely fantastic supporters and extended family in recent months, that we will not have the opportunity to experience ESC together. I want you guys to know that Christoffer and I have been fighting to the last minute to try to make this possible. This was our dream ❤️ NRK has offered me to be a finalist in MGP 2021 now as it will be a regular MGP year. As of now, I have declined no, but you should never say never. I do not want a final place on the grounds that I did not go to Eurovision this year, but because I could. had just as good a song as “Attention” on the table right now. Now I want to focus on other exciting projects going forward. Lots of love for you all”
The Portuguese broadcaster RTP held “Festival da Canção 2020” to choose an artist and a song for Eurovision 2020. The winner was the singer Maria Elisa Silva with the song “Medo de sentir”
In her Instagram account, the singer reveals that she won’t be chosen internally for Eurovision 2021. Portugal will hold “Festival da Canção” as always.
