“The Looker 2024”: Eurovision Wish List – Chapter 6 (Belgium, Luxembourg, The Netherlands)

Welcome to our series of posts – “The Looker” where we will share our wish list of artists to participate in Eurovision.
You can easily reach all former posts here


This is the 4th year in a row that we are running the project.
But before we start, let us remark that our recommendations will not necessarily come true (as for example some countries select their artists by reality shows).

#1. Pommelien Thijs

Pommelien Thijs is a 23 year-old Belgian actress and singer.
She was firstly rose to prominence as an actress.
Since 2020, she has started releasing music.
At the of 19, she became the youngest Flemish singer ever to have a number 1 hit in the Netherlands and Flanders.
In 2023, she releases her debut album “Per ongeluk” (Eng: accidently).
4 of her singles topped the Belgian charts.
Pommelien Thijs brings a fresh new wave of Dutch pop. This is a thing we haven’t received from Belgium in Eurovision recently, and I believe it might work good.


In 2021, she released the song “Meisjes Van Honing” (Eng: GIrls of Honey):

In 2024, she released the song “Medeplichtig” (Eng: Complicit)

In 2024, she released the song “Het Beste Moet Nog Komen” (Eng: The best has yet to come):

#2. Pierre de Maere

Pierre de Maere is a 23 year-old Belgian electro-dance pop singer-songwriter.
He started working on his own music in 2020, with his official debut single released in 2021.
In 2022, he released his debut EP “Un jour, je” (Eng: One day, I).
In 2023, he released his debut album “Regarde-moi” (Eng: Look At Me).
With his music, Pierre de Maere created a fusion on theatrical interpretations and delicate electro pop melodies.
I believe, that together with the French language, it might create a moment for Belgium in Eurovision.


In 2021, he released the song ” Un jour je marierai un ange” (Eng: One Day I’ll Marry An Angel):

In 2022, he released the song “Les oiseaux” (Eng: The Birds)

In 2023, he released the song “Mercredi” (Eng: Wednesday):

#1. Francis of Delirium

Francis of Delirium (real name: Jana Bahrich) is a 22 year-old indie rock singer-songwriter from Luxembourg.
She started her musical career by learning to play Banjo and French horn in childhood.
Francis of Delirium is one of the few artists who make alternative music in Luxembourg.
During her career, she has toured in various cities all over Europe, usually with bands.
In 2024, she has released her debut album – “Lighthouse”.
Francis of Delirium is a unique artist who might shine in Eurovision due to the distinctive sounds she brings.

#2. Alex Uhlmann

Alexander Uhlmann is a 43 year-old singer-songwriter and guitarist from Luxembourg.
Since 2010, he is the lead singer of the Italian electronic band Planet Funk.
Since 2017, he has also started to work on his solo career.
Since 2019, he has been the musical director of “The Voice of Italy”.
Alex brings a diversity of music to the table, from ballads that will move you to electronic music.
He is a seasoned artist who might do well in Eurovision.

#1. The Jordan (Caro Emerald)

Caroline Esmeralda van der Leeuw (or better known as Caro Emerald and recently as The Jordan) is a 43 year-old Dutch electro jazz pop singer.
She has started her career in 2007, while rosing to prominence in 2009.
Some of her singles topped the local charts.
In 2010, she has released her debut album “Deleted Scenes from the Cutting Room Floor” topped the charts for 30 consecutive weeks!
So far, she has released 3 studio albums, and several EPs and live albums.
The Jordan is one of the leading voices in The Netherlands, continuously delivering high-quality songs with meaningful lyrics and dreamy melodies.
Who known maybe the next Eurovision trophy is just under her hands.

#2. MEAU

Meau Hewitt is a 24 year-old Dutch singer-songwriter.
Between 2008 and 2011, she performed in the child choir “Kinderen voor Kinderen”.
In 2012 and 2013, she tried her luck in competing at Junior Songfestival, but didn’t win.
She started releasing her own music in 2020.
She released her debut album “Kalmte” in 2021, and her 2nd album “22” in 2023.
In case you enjoy lullabies with sophisticated arrangement, you will find comfort in MEAU‘s music. I believe she can create an impact in Eurovision as well.
