In early July, we reported that the EBU was about to reshape the responsibility of the board members.
This kind of reform follows some controversial events, which took place during Eurovision 2024.
Subsequently, the EBU has identified 3 main areas of development:

- EBU Governance and Participation
- Safety and Risk ManagementÂ
- Ensuring a general-audience show and broad engagementÂ
Today, the EBU released an official statement: Martin Green was announced as the new ESC director.
A new position was created:Â ESC Director, who will report to EBU Deputy Director General and Media Director.
This will allow an additional review of the Executive Supervisor’s work, who will focus on the production, and building the relationship between the EBU and the national broadcasters.
The ESC producer will oversee the Executive Supervisor’s work, and will also manage the Head of ESC Brand and Commercial (Another new role)
Martin Green is a British broadcast events leader.
His track record includes serving as executive producer of major events like the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Hull UK City of Culture 2017, the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022 and the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.
