Melodi Grand Prix” 2025 – Known Details

- “Melodi Grand Prix 2025” will include one show only. The final will be held on the 15th of February 2025, at the Oslo Spektrum (the same venue where Eurovision 1996 took place)
- 10 artists will compete in the selection.
- Marte Stokstad, Tete Lidbom and Markus Neby will host the show. Marte hosted the “Melodi Grand Prix” in 2012.
- The participants will be revealed during a press conference on Thursday, the 16th of January 2025
Marte commented:
“I am really looking forward to this. The last time I officiated the MGP Final was in 2012 and I haven’t lost interest in the competition since then. It does happen that artists get to try again in this competition, and it’s good to see that this also applies to presenters. This is a long-awaited reunion for me. It’s especially fun to do it together with such nice guys like Tete and Markus”
Tete Lidbom reacted:
I didn’t accept right away, but after I asked who I should lead it with, there was no doubt. After all, MGP is Norway’s biggest music festival, and I don’t think there are many people who love such a wide range of music as I do. In MGP there is room for everything, and that is perhaps what I like most. From fairy-tale lullabies with Secret Garden’s “Nocturne”, via cold Scandi pop with Margaret Berger’s “I Feed You My Love” to the 80s “banger” that wasn’t written in the 80s, Wig Wam’s “In My Dreams“
Markus Neby added
Melodi Grand Prix has been one of the highlights of the year for me since I was a child. When I worked in P3morgen, we also made an alternative Eurovision broadcast focusing on everything about this circus that is comical. It’s not a little to deal with. After all, this is the purest form of hit song competition, where it’s about catching as many people as possible in the shortest time. I’m looking forward to doing this with good and seasoned Marte, and also Tete, although I dread feeling underdressed next to him

GÃ¥te represented Norway at Eurovision 2024 with the song “Ulvahem”.
They finished in 25th place (last place) with 16 points.
Eurovision 2025 will be held in Basel, Switzerland on the 13th, 15th and 17th of May 2025
