Last September, Czech Television (ČT) confirmed the country will take part in Eurovision 2025, with the song being selected internally.
Song submissions closed on the 30th of September 2024.
The country selected the artist and the song for Eurovision 2025 via an internal selection.
The selection was made with the involvement of an international jury, a national jury and Eurovision experts.
The winner of the internal selection is the 29 year-old singer Adam Pavlovčin, who is well known as ADONXS.
The candidates were first decided by a 10-member international jury consisting of 5 professionals from the field of music production and music composers, plus 5 former foreign representatives of Eurovision. The next part was quantitative research with more than 900 respondents from three foreign countries. To ratify the voting result, we conducted another research through a focus group. And ADONXS was the clear winner in all aspects.
About ADONXS
He rose to fame in 2021, when he won the “SuperStar Czech-Slovakia”.
In 2022, he released his first album, “Age of ADONXS”. Since his breakthrough, he has only released several successful singles.
The singer commented:
“My song is Uncompromising, cheeky, sometimes cinematic and with room for dancing.
I have visualised this moment to a large extent and for the last year I have mainly focused on creating new songs, also with the ambition of Eurovision. I applied with several songs, and I am happy that one of them was ultimately successful. I can’t wait to be able to share the song with you.
First of all, I am really happy; participating in Eurovision has always been my big dream. At the same time, I feel a great responsibility to represent a country that has a great recent history in the competition, and which is my home“
Over the years, Czechia has used internal selection (like in 2015 – 2017), as well online selection (like in 2018 – 2020) and national final (like in 2022 – 2024).
Aiko represented Czechia at Eurovision 2024 with the song “Pedestal”.
