Austrian broadcaster ORF reveals the duo Teya and Salena will represent the country at Eurovision 2023!
Their song for Eurovision 2023 will be revealed on Wednesday, the 8th of March 2023 (international woman’s day).
They will perform an uptempo pop song, which was written by the duo.
This year, the selection process was an internal one.
ORF management, the Austrian delegation, and 25 international jury members helped shortlist the acts.
Also, the format has changed a little as each artist has sent a live performance of each song to be judged by the voters. ORF has carefully checked the vocal abilities of the contenders in order to validate that the live performance will be as professional as possible
It will be the first time that a female duo will represent the country!
The previous week, Austria’s Eurovision scout Eberhard Forcher revealed on his Facebook page that Austria had chosen a female voice to sing the sound of the country.
About Teya and Salena
Teya is a 22-year-old Austrian singer, and Salena is a 24-year-old Austrian singer.
They met each other 2 years ago when they both competed in the Austrian talent show “Starmania 21″.
Teya isn’t foreign to Eurovision!
In 2020, she tried her luck in the internal Austrian selection for Eurovision 2020.
Back then, she reached the list of the final top 3 artists to be condifered by ORF.
Moreover, in 2020 she competed in the Serbian selection “Beovizija 2020” with the song “Sudnji dan”.
She is a Serbian singer who lives in Austria, and that’s why she could have competed in both selections:
Those with eager eyes might see that both of them have changed their Instagram account name, to begin with, “Who the Hell is?”.
This might be a significant hint to the lyrics of the song!
