The contest in 2025 will see an increase of 1 in the number of participating countries, as Montenegro has decided to return to the contest after 2 years break.
6 countries have already secured their spot in the grand final. Those are the big 5 countries: France, Germany, the UK, Spain, and Italy, and the host country Switzerland.

The remaining 32 countries will compete in the 2 semi-finals. 16 countries will compete in each semi-final, where only 10 of them will make it to the final.
The semi-final allocation draw will be held on Tuesday, the 28th of January 2025.

Unfortunately, this means that besides Montenegro, we won’t have any additional returning countries to Eurovision 2025 like Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, Slovakia, Andorra, Monaco, etc.
Eurovision 2025 will be held in Basel, Switzerland on the 13th, 15th and 17th of May 2025
